Armenian universal credit organizations report 17 percent rise in first quarter net profit

YEREVAN, May 19. / ARKA /. In the first quarter of this year 32 Armenia-based  universal credit organizations earned a total 2.030.7 billion drams in net profits, a 17.2% year-on-year rise, according to a ranking compiled by ARKA news agency.

According to it, twenty-two organizations ended the quarter with a total profit of 2.518.8 billion drams, while the other 10 organizations posted losses worth 488.1 million drams. In the first quarter of 2014 only six organizations posted losses worth 139 million drams.

It is noteworthy that in 2014 all 32  organizations earned a total 7.909 5 billion drams in net profit, by 27.3% more from the previous year. In 2014  profits were reported by 28 organizations, while the other four posted 313.3 million drams worth losses.

According to the ranking, compiled on quarterly basis, the top five organizations by size of net profit were Bnakaran Yeritasardnerin, Fast Credit, Aregak, the National Mortgage Company and Kamurj, which  accounted for about 79.6% or 2.005.7 billion drams of the total profit.

The list was topped by Bnakaran Yeritasardnerin, which earned 848.9 million drams in net profit in the first quarter of 2015, a 3 time rise from the year before when it also topped the list.

Fast Credit earned 381.2 million drams, a more than 16 time rise form the year earlier. Aregak reported a 20% year-on-year rise to 330.8 million drams.

The National Mortgage Company’s net profit rose from 167.3 million drams to 238.7 million drams.
Kamurj posted 206.1 million drams in net profit, a decline of 1.4% from the year before.

The biggest profit growth rate in the first quarter of this year was reported by Unileasing organizations – 2.75 million drams from 94,000 drams in the first quarter of 2014, while the biggest drop of 10 million drams was posted Credit Corp. In the first quarter of 2014 it earned 831,000 drams in net profit.
