Insurance of buildings to be introduced in 2016, minister

YEREVAN, December 9. /ARKA/. Armenian urban development minister Narek Sargsyan said today the government is going to enforce a legislation allowing insurance of buildings in the capital city Yerevan from 2016.

Speaking in parliament he said the legislation will help avoid ‘various difficulties in the future.’
He said a relevant bill had been drafted by the government and submitted to parliament.

According to him a pilot project to insure buildings will be tested in a capital neighborhood. It will provide for insurance from the design to construction process.

According to him, the bill is likely to be considered by the National Assembly in spring and come into force before the end of 2016. -0-
