Time deposits at Unibank exceed AMD 96.5 billion

YEREVAN, March 2. /ARKA/. Time deposits at Unibank exceed AMD 96.5 billion, the bank’s press office reported on Wednesday.

“Unibank, one of Armenia’s flagship banks on time deposits, offers highly profitable deposits in Armenian drams, US dollars, euros and Russian rubles,” the bank says in its press release.

To those wanting to keep their savings in dollars Unibank offers deposits at up to 7% annual interest rates with an opportunity to add or withdraw a part of their deposits.

Maximum interest rate on euro deposits is 6.5%. Depositing more than AMD 20 million or 50,000 USD/EUR, one becomes a Unibank Privé participant.

Such clients are serviced in a special comfortable office of the bank. A personal financial manager is supporting a client at any time the client wants.

Tigran Margaryan, head of Unibank Privé branch, said the bank offers clients with certain status and income convenient and reliable financial service and comprehensive solutions that include an effective planning and management of deposits.

“Our principle of working is based on building trust relations with clients, individual approach and strict confidentiality,” he said. “We can also work remotely, if a client wants.”

Margaryan said Unibank will continue developing private banking and replenishing the package of services.

“Along with banking products, we also offer today other products to Unibank Privé clients, for example, Priority Pass cards, which provide access to 700 VIP halls in 120 countries’ international airports allowing the cardholders to enjoy comfort while waiting for their flights,” he said.

The Unibank Privé package also includes multi-currency cards of bonus categories – VISA Gold or Infinite, which allow operating accounts in drams, dollars and euros at once.

These premium cards’ opportunities include personal round-the-clock servicing, medical and legal support, hotel and air ticket reservations, car leasing, insurance, concierge services, discounts and special offers.

In addition, holders of the premium cards may formalize up to three extra cards to their account for members of their families.

Limit on each card is set individually, and all the additional cards include a number of Unibank Privé privileges.

Deposits remain one of the most popular kinds of money investment in Armenia. Individual and corporate deposits at Armenian banks totaled AMD 1.840 billion in late 2015 after growing 13.47% over one year.

Non-residents’ deposits exceed AMD 335.8 billion.

Armenia’s banking sector attracts attention of Armenian communities worldwide as reliable means to keep savings with relatively high additional income.

Growth of deposits is mainly ensured by the United States as well as by EU, Middle East and CIS countries.

Unibank is the first bank in Armenia that auctioned stocks through IPO at NASDAQ OMX Armenia and carried out listing on the stock exchange’s secondary platform (B).

The key requirement for being listed in B platform is mo less than 10% of stocks in free float.
Unibank has 45 branches, 50 promotion offices and more than 300,000 clients.
