Armenia’s monetary base shrinks 12.1% to AMD 916.4 billion in January

YEREVAN, February 28. /ARKA/. Armenia’s monetary base shrank 12.1% in January 2017, compared with December 2016, to AMD 916.4 billion, the National Statistical Service reports referring to the central bank’s preliminary figures.

Cash outside the central bank exceeded AMD 417.7 billion in January 2017 against 455.4 billion in December 2016.

Correspondent accounts in the national currency totaled AMD 284.5 billion in late January 2017 against AMD 315.2 billion in late December 2016 and in foreign currencies AMD 198.3 billion against AMD 256.1 billion respectively.

Net international reserves amounted to more than AMD 610 billion in late January 2017 after shrinking 9.3%, compared with December 2016.

Net domestic assets totaled AMD 306.3 billion in January 2017 – 17.1% less than in December 2016. ($1- AMD 486.7). –0—-
