Armenian banks bought $84.7 million on may 2-5

YEREVAN, May 7. /ARKA/. Armenian banks bought a total of $84.7 million in the local forex market from May 2 to May 5 at the weighted average rate of 483.41 drams for $1, the Central Bank said.

They also bought EUR 7.2 million and 842.8 million Russian rubles at the weighted average rates of 579.89 drams for €1 and 7.62 drams for 1 ruble, respectively.

They were said to have also sold $78.6 million, €23.3 million and 473.4 million rubles at the weighted average rate of 485.21 drams, 584.41 drams and 7.75 drams respectively.

No transactions with USD were effected in the same time span at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange.

Besides, from April 23 to 29, the local banks provided 65.3 billion drams of loans in the national currency and $57.8 million worth loans in the US currency. ($ 1- 485.37 drams). -0-
