Some 202 billion drams remitted to Armenia in the first three quarters of this year

YEREVAN, December 27. / ARKA /. Some 202 billion drams were remitted to Armenia in the first three quarters of this year by individuals through international money transfer systems  without opening bank accounts., 10.8 times more than the amount remitted from Armenia abroad, including through  commercial banks and other organizations, according to the Bulletin of the Central Bank of Armenia for the third quarter of 2012.

According to the Central Bank, the amount of remittances in the third quarter of this year increased by 21% (by 35 billion drams) compared to the same quarter last year. The average amount of a  money transfer was 242,000 drams.

According to the Bulletin, the amount of remittances through commercial banks grew by 22 percent from the third quarter of 2011 to 183 billion drams. ($ 1 – 403.13 drams).  -0-
