Total loan portfolio of Armenian banks’ branches in Nagorno-Karabakh decrease by 1.2% to over 7.6 billion drams

YEREVAN, November 10. / ARKA /. The combined loan portfolio of Armenian banks’ branches operating in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) decreased by 1.2% in late November this year when compared with the same period of 2013 to over 7.6 billion drams, the National Statistical Service (NSS) of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic said today.

According to official data, the total lending was 0.9% down when compared with the previous month.

NSS said also that 55% of the portfolio were loans in foreign currency, while overdue loans constituted 0.7%.

As of November 1, 2014 the amount of deposits in the branches stood at 54.7 billion drams, having decreased by 5.9% over the same period last year, however, when compared to the previous month this year the figure was higher 1.2%.

According to the NSS, 72.4% of deposits were term deposits, 19.1% – demand deposits and 8.5% – targeted deposits. -0-
