Armenian central bank joins Sustainable Banking and Finance Network

YEREVAN, November 30. /ARKA/. The Central Bank of Armenia said today it had joined the Sustainable Banking and Finance Network (SBFN) on November 24.

According to the Central Bank, the SBFN was created by the International Finance Corporation to help participating structures to mobilize information, resources and practical assistance in order to develop and implement national initiatives which promote development of sustainable financing at the national, regional and global levels.

The SBFN is a voluntary platform for financial sector regulators in emerging markets to share knowledge and develop sustainable financing opportunities. Currently, 66 institutions from 44 developing countries are members of the platform.

Members are committed to developing sustainable finance in line with international best practice to improve environmental, social and governance risk management and direct capital flows towards activities that have a positive impact on the climate. -0-
