Assets of Armenia’s banking system fell by 0.24% to 2,932 bln drams in Q1

YEREVAN, April 17. /ARKA/. Aggregate assets of Armenia’s banking system amounted to 2,932 billion drams as of the end of March 2014, a reduction of 0.24% from the beginning of the year.

ARKA News Agency’s analysis showed Ameriabank remained the largest asset-owner among the country’s banks in the first quarter of 2014 with 338.9 billion drams (7.59% increase from the beginning of the year). This bank accounted for 11.5% of aggregate assets of all banks.

The second largest asset-owner among banks is Bank VTB (Armenia) with 307.6 billion drams (2.6% increase), followed by Ardshininvestbank with 277.5bln drams (3% increase), ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK with 264.6bln drams (1.2% reduction) and HSBC Bank Armenia with 251.9bln drams (1% increase).

There were 21 commercial banks operating in Armenia as of the end of March 2014. ($1=414.27drams).–0–
