Deposits in Armenia’s commercial banks grow 1.1% in Jan-May 2014 to AMD 1630.6 billion

YEREVAN, July 3. / ARKA /. The total amount of deposits in Armenia’s commercial banks has grown 1.1% since the beginning of this year reaching AMD 1630.6 billion by late May, the National Statistical Service reports.

Residents’ deposits totaled AMD 1226 billion in late May after growing 6.7% since the beginning of this year. Their deposits in drams amounted to AMD 484.2 billion (5.2% growth) and in foreign currencies AMD 741.8 billion (7.7% growth).

Residents’ demand deposits totaled AMD 365.9 billion (6.9% growth) – deposits in drams amounted to AMD 190.5 billion and in foreign currencies to AMD 175.4 billion.

Their time deposits totaled AMD 860 billion (6.6% growth) – about AMD 293.7 billion in drams and AMD 566.4 billion in foreign currencies.
